Wiring Rules
For customers who purchase Internet we will install one
CAT5 cable from the ONT box to the Router Box (Router is provided by SMU or the Customer) or directly to the main computer
if no router is used. For any additional computers the customer may hire SMU's contractor and will be asked to call the
526-3131 and setup a time and date for custom wiring work or they may hire someone else to do the work. If the customer has
their own router and it does not work SMU will plug directly into the computer to test the Internet and prove that it is functioning,
the customer may call the SMU help line at 524-HELP (4357) to get help making their own router work. Customers receive 5
free E-mail accounts with their Internet Connection.

For customers who want digital Television (IP over CAT5) services, we will install a CAT5
cable from the ONT to the SMU Router Box and then to the customers main television where the set-top box will be placed. All
additional televisions will need a set-top box and are wired from the SMU Router Box to the set-top box at each television
using CAT5 cabling. Each additional set-top box requiring cable to be run from the Router Box to the set-top box will be an
additional charge of $25.00. If a customer wants rooms wired that do not have set-top boxes they may hire SMU's contractor
and will be asked to call the 526-3131 and setup a time and date for custom wiring work or they may hire someone else to do
the work.
